Microsoft Outlook
Read, send, move and reply to Outlook mail, manage drafts, folders and attachments, and work with calendars, events and contacts, through Microsoft Graph.
| Nodes | Outlook (actions), Outlook Trigger (polling) |
| Auth | Flero-managed Microsoft sign-in, or your own Microsoft Entra app |
| Availability | All workspaces |
Connecting
Both options sign in as a user and act on that user's behalf.
Flero-managed sign-in
Click Sign in with Outlook in the node and sign in with your work or school Microsoft account. The managed app requests:
openid, profile, offline_access, User.Read, User.ReadBasic.All, Mail.ReadWrite, Mail.Send, Calendars.ReadWrite, Contacts.ReadWrite
Your organization's Microsoft 365 admin may need to consent once for the tenant, depending on your tenant's settings. If you see "Need admin approval", ask them.
The same Microsoft sign-in serves Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote and Excel. When you sign in to a second Microsoft connector, Flero offers to merge it into the existing credential.
Your own Entra app
- In the Microsoft Entra admin centre, open App registrations → New registration.
- Add the Redirect URL from Flero's credential dialog as a Web redirect URI.
- Under Certificates & secrets, create a client secret and copy its Value.
- Under API permissions, add the delegated Microsoft Graph permissions you need, and grant admin consent where required.
- In Flero, choose OAuth 2.0, paste the client ID and secret, keep the scopes you need, and click Connect with Outlook.
The default scopes are User.Read.All, Mail.ReadWrite, Mail.Send, Calendars.ReadWrite and Contacts.ReadWrite.
Operations
| Resource | Operations |
|---|---|
| Message | Get Many, Get, Update, Delete, Send, Move, Reply |
| Folder Message | Get Many |
| Draft | Create, Get, Update, Delete, Send |
| Attachment | Get Many, Add, Get, Download |
| Folder | Get Many, Create, Get, Update, Delete |
| Calendar | Get Many, Create, Get, Update, Delete |
| Event | Get Many, Create, Get, Update, Delete |
| Contact | Get Many, Create, Get, Update, Delete |
The Email address / User ID field is a dropdown of users in your tenant. To act on another mailbox, such as a shared mailbox, enter its address. The signed-in user needs access to it in Exchange.
Triggers
The Outlook Trigger polls an operation on an interval, 5 minutes by default. For mail, use a Get Many listing: messages, or messages in a folder. Attachments, folders, calendars, events and contacts have Get Many triggers too.
With On change polling mode, each run carries the items Flero has not seen before. See Connector event triggers.
Do not use an action as a trigger. Send, Reply, Move, Create and Add also appear in the trigger's list. Polling one of them performs the action on every poll.
There is no real-time Outlook trigger yet.
Limits
- Microsoft Graph throttling applies. Flero does not throttle calls.
- Polling notices new mail once per interval, not instantly.
Common errors
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| "Need admin approval" at sign-in | A tenant admin must consent to the app or its permissions. |
403 on another user's mailbox |
The signed-in user has no access to that mailbox. |
403 on a calendar or contact operation with your own app |
The app registration lacks that delegated permission, or admin consent was not granted. |
401 after a while |
The refresh failed. Reconnect the credential. |
